Lumix Therapy
Lumix therapy is a therapeutic laser light treatment that reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation while accelerating the body’s natural healing process
How Does Lumix Therapy Work?
The Lumix laser pulses light photons deep into damaged tissues. Cells within the tissues absorb the photons and convert them into energy that increases cell activity and ultimately heals the damaged tissues, reduces swelling, inflammation and pain.
Sessions typically last for 10-20 minutes, although depending on the size and severity of damage, more time may be necessary.
The number of treatments needed will also vary depending on the following conditions:
- The patient’s condition and whether it is acute or chronic
Acute conditions typically are treated in 1-2 sessions over a couple a couple of weeks
Chronic conditions may require up to 12 sessions over several months
- Their patient’s metabolism and how quickly they heal
- The size of the area to be treated
- How deep the laser needs to go to penetrate the injured tissue
- The level of laser energy needed
Are Lumix Laser Treatments Painful?
Lumix laser therapy is painless and patients typically experience no side effects. In rare cases, there may be a temporary increase in the body’s healing response, which may result in tension or pain which typically lasts only for a few minutes or hours. During sessions patients often feel a warm, soothing sensation at the site of treatment.
